Burke has recently published the first book in his "Squirrel E. Burke" series. In two short months the first in the collection was sold out on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Squirrel E. Burke is a sweet story about a young flying squirrel trying desperately to find his place in the world. Written for his Granddaughter, Renee. The first of the series "A Hero Takes Flight" also contains "love letters" as Burke calls them, written to Renee as he watches her grow. 😍

As demonstrated in Burke's blog, his ideas don't truly fit into a single writing styles, but this first published children's book is absolutely heart-warming from cover to cover!

I've known Burke for several years and was fortunate to have the chance to get a pre-release read of his first book "Squirrel E Burke". OMG, the story is amazing and so colorful, but the private words from him to his granddaughter are 100% PRECIOUS! Love their relationship! Great book!

I had no idea what to expect when a book written by the guy I've known since we were little trouble-makers was handed to me. Glad I got to read it, and you can expect an amazing short children's story, some beautiful illustration, and some of the most touching "love letters" I think I've ever seen.

It's not the words or the story, it's not even the little letters to his granddaughter, it's the fact that this man's tremendous love for life is completely dwarfed by his love for this young lady. His granddaughter may not know it now, but one day she's gonna be able to look back and read about her friend "grumpa". What a legacy!
